Description:
This outside sales role focuses on managing and growing existing business leads while building new customer relationships. The Logistics Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of freight shipments and customer accounts, delivering excellent service, supporting operational teams, and driving branch revenue growth. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive branch culture while achieving or exceeding branch goals.
Note: This is a sales position requiring 2+ years of sales experience and an existing book of business. Compensation includes a competitive salary plus commission opportunities.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred
- Knowledge of business development, sales processes, and customer service
- Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 10 Key, and data entry - Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Professional phone and email communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions
Preferred Requirements:
- Brokerage operations experience
- Registry Monitoring Insurance Services (RMIS) experience
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance to team members
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow customer accounts using provided business leads
- Conduct spot pricing and carrier negotiations
- Deliver cost-effective freight solutions to attract and retain customers
- Collaborate with operations and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment management
- Support customers with pricing, operational, and payment-related inquiries
- Conduct on-site customer visits as necessary
- Maintain accurate records and provide reports on account activity
- Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, and team members
Primarily office-based with extensive team and supplier interaction. Frequent interruptions may occur, requiring multi-tasking and flexibility. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
