Job Summary
Family-owned and operated, Ilderton Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM is seeking a highly motivated and relationship-driven Commercial Sales Associate to join our team in High Point, North Carolina. This role is responsible for generating new commercial business, developing long-term client relationships, and growing fleet and commercial vehicle sales. The ideal candidate will work with business owners, fleet managers, contractors, municipalities, and commercial organizations to identify their transportation needs and provide customized vehicle and upfit solutions.
This is a full-time, individual contributor role with commission-based compensation. Fourth-generation owners are very excited to meet you!

- Prospect and secure new commercial accounts through outbound calls, networking, site visits, referrals, and business development activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, fleet managers, small business owners, municipalities, and community organizations.
- Conduct detailed needs assessments to understand fleet operations, vehicle usage, budget requirements, and specialty upfit needs.
- Recommend commercial trucks, vans, fleet vehicles, mobility solutions, and specialty upfit options that best meet customer requirements.
- Prepare and present professional proposals, quotes, fleet pricing, and bid responses.
- Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified commercial sales opportunities using dealership CRM systems.
- Stay current on commercial vehicle inventory, manufacturer incentives, OEM fleet programs, and financing options.
- Educate customers on commercial financing, leasing, tax advantages, and available fleet incentives.
- Maintain working knowledge of commercial upfit solutions, including shelving, toolboxes, emergency lighting, ladder racks, mobility conversions, and specialty equipment.
- Complete all required sales documentation accurately, including buyer's orders, fleet program paperwork, title documents, and delivery forms.
- Coordinate with finance, service, mobility, and upfit departments to ensure a seamless customer experience from order through delivery.
- Follow up with customers after delivery to build long-term relationships and generate repeat business and referrals.
- Represent the dealership at trade shows, networking events, community outreach initiatives, and industry events.
- Participate in ongoing manufacturer and dealership training to stay informed on products, technology, and industry trends.
- Previous automotive, commercial, fleet, or B2B sales experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and consultative sales skills.
- Proven ability to build lasting relationships with business owners and key decision-makers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prospect and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and sales opportunities simultaneously.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicles, fleet sales, or specialty upfitting is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or sales training is a plus.
- Regular time spent on the dealership lot, at customer locations, and attending networking events, business meetings, and trade shows.
- Frequent local travel to visit commercial clients and develop new business relationships.
- Occasional lifting of promotional materials, vehicle accessories, or commercial equipment.
- Combination of office, showroom, and outdoor work environments.
