Description:

Performs responsible skilled work in the installation, repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines and does related work as required. Duties include operating various types of medium and heavy equipment including loaders, excavator, tractors, and mowers.

• Must be a current employee of Halifax County.
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Must be able to perform physical labor lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Prefer applicants with some equipment experience, and a Class B Commercial driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.

The salary rate for this position is $39,058 - $43,677. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.
