Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic services of tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. The role may involve working outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends, with overtime. Full‑time attendance is required.

• Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks, including tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments, services and replacements, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub‑frames, etc.
• Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard.
• Operate the assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep the unit clean and well‑stocked.
• Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures.
• Properly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costs.
• Understand and demonstrate the basic use of a cutting torch and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc.
• Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water‑tight.
• Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections under the supervision of a certified technician as required.

• 8 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs.
• Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences.
• Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines.
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through the toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi‑tractor or semi‑trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Welding certification.
• Forklift certification and experience.
• EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license.
• Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE).

Base pay range: $28.47 – $42.71 per hour. The position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes, in accordance with the company’s bonus and incentive plans.
