Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Overview
Ossid, a division of Pro Mach, is seeking a skilled Service Technician to support customers throughout the full lifecycle of our machinery. As a subject‑matter expert, you will provide both technical guidance and hands‑on support for horizontal form fill and seal (HFFS) and tray sealing equipment.
This role requires problem‑solving, innovation, and a commitment to helping customers optimize their operations for efficiency and cost‑effectiveness. Reporting to the HFFS Product Line Manager, you will be responsible for machine assembly, factory acceptance testing (FAT), field installations, upgrades, and emergency service.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve equipment discrepancies.
- Ensure equipment meets inspection, testing, quality, and operational standards.
- Lead or supervise customer personnel during equipment installation, integration, and service activities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend product enhancements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, specifications, manuals, and technical instructions.
- Collaborate with Operations to resolve customer inquiries and provide timely technical support.
- Partner with Sales and Engineering to address installation, integration, and service‑related issues.
- Conduct final assembly, quality testing, and shipment preparation for new equipment.
- Prepare detailed trip reports documenting equipment status, service performed, and potential parts or upgrade opportunities.
- 5 years of experience in technical support, machinery assembly, or servicing electro‑mechanical systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% (primarily domestic).
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Mechanical and electrical proficiency, with hands‑on assembly and automation experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and independent decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments and interpreting engineering drawings, including wiring schematics.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as Solid Works and AutoCAD.
