What you will do
  • Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
  • Respond to basic warranty calls.
  • Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
How you will do it
  • Load system‑level controller software.
  • Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) and complete all required commissioning documentation.
  • Keep management, the JCI contractor, or the customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Calibrate systems with basic electronic test equipment.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including but not limited to timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
  • Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
  • Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training, maintaining a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities, and provide quotes to support recommendations.
What we look for
  • Vocational school four‑year program or associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field plus three years of industry experience, or one year of experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
  • General knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other contacts ethically and professionally.
  • Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment on a job site.
  • PC experience and ability to program HVAC‑related software.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22-$28 (The hourly rate will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data alignment). This position includes a competitive benefits package.
