The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energized and collaborative Electrician II (Regional Maintenance Electrician), to be a part of the Mountain Regional Maintenance Team. This position reports to the Buncombe Satellite Yard in Black Mountain, NC and will be tasked with completing electrical preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account electrical system replacements.
A successful candidate for this Electrician II (Regional Maintenance Electrician) position, shall have journeyman level experience in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures; be able to work independently to complete work assignments received by a supervisor; read and interpret blueprints; and perform other assigned duties.

Salary Grade Range: $41,206 - $72,113
- Demonstrated experience in the installation of primary and secondary electrical conduit and circuitry for electrical distribution systems.
- Demonstrated experience with standard testing equipment to diagnose electrical components.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) standards.
- Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
- NCBEEC Electrical License

Work Location and ScheduleThis position requires the daily commute to the Western Correctional Center for Women in Black Mountain, NC. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The work schedule is Monday
- Friday and may require some weekend work and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization.

Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM)Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) operates as the NCDAC Capital Project Coordinator (CPC) and is tasked with coordinating all capital improvement and renovation and repair projects with the State Construction Office (SCO) and serves as the DAC representative on all matters involving the State Property Office and State Building Commission. Our unified purpose is to provide architectural and engineering support, sustainability, efficiency, and resiliency planning, construction, and maintenance services to ensure all statewide Institutions and Facilities remain in compliance with building codes, regulations, and legislative mandates, while also promoting the agency's rehabilitation and reentry goals through offender job training within the construction and maintenance trades, while assisting institutions directly and indirectly with the installation and maintenance of kitchen, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and electronics equipment.
SupportServices Division
The Support Services Division oversees the operations and infrastructure that sustain facilities within the Department of Adult Correction. Responsibilities include facility maintenance, fleet and warehouse management, food services, construction and renovation projects, and energy efficiency. This division plays a vital role in supporting daily operations and long-term planning.
