Debbie's Staffing is seeking a Residential Property Inspector for our client in High Point, NC!

This is Temp to Hire assignment

Hours: 8am-5pmWeekdays

Pay: 20.00 per hour

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will inspect current and prospective residential properties to ensure they meet Housing Quality Standards. Responsibilities include conducting initial and special inspections, completing maintenance checks, and identifying needed repairs for houses, apartments, and other residential properties.

Qualifications
  • Experience in residential property inspections, construction, maintenance, or building trades
  • Experience with affordable housing programs or public housing (preferred)
  • Experience documenting inspection findings and preparing reports
  • Knowledge of local and state building, housing, and property maintenance codes
  • Familiarity with federal housing standards, such as HUD's inspection requirements (if applicable)
  • Ability to identify structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, and safety issues
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to use tablets, inspection software, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Customer service and conflict-resolution skills when interacting with residents and property owners

Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Valid driver's license witha safe driving record
  • Building inspector certification
  • Lead-based paint, asbestos, or other environmental certifications can be an advantage
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs and inspect attics, basements, and crawl spaces
  • Ability to lift inspection equipment (often up to 25–50 pounds)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
