All DSS positions are subject to reallocation contingent upon funding, agency needs and client population and are subject to perform work during emergency or disaster situations as required and may be required to staff shelter overnight.

Responsibilities- Conduct interviews with clients to understand their situation and determine their eligibility for vital assistance programs.
- Verify, document and key information to ensure services are delivered accurately and per policy guidelines.
- Help clients retain life‑sustaining benefits like food and medical assistance by maintaining up‑to‑date, detailed case records.
- Support and guide people during their most vulnerable moments and connect them to other community resources.
- Manage an active caseload while following policies and procedures that help maximize state and federal support.
- Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience that included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analyzing data, and/or performing mathematical or legal tasks; or
- Graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience that included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analyzing data, and/or performing mathematical or legal tasks, with at least one year of such experience in an income maintenance program; or
- Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
To fully qualify as an IMC II, candidates must have at least one year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A work against is offered.
(Income Maintenance Caseworker can also go by the title of Human Service Specialist, Economic Services Caseworker, etc.)
