Full Stack Developer, Software Engineer
TCUS was founded in 2024 by Kevin Schmidt and a dedicated team of changemakers who saw the need for bold, systemic solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. With backgrounds in engineering, medicine, and construction, our team combines technical expertise with a passion for human‑centered impact. From supporting classrooms in Ethiopia to exploring sustainable housing solutions, we aim to create real, measurable change where it’s needed most.
WhyVolunteer with TCUS?
TCUS is more than just a nonprofit‑it’s a movement to rethink how change happens. Volunteers are essential to helping us expand our reach, refine our programs, and make a bigger impact. Whether you have skills in content creation, fundraising, research, or community engagement, there’s a place for you here. Join us in building a world where innovation meets compassion in action.
GetInvolved!
We’re looking for dedicated volunteers who are passionate about making a difference. Whether you’re interested in helping with social media, writing, outreach, or graphic design, we’d love to have you on board.
Mission‑aligned engineering- Own the front‑end
- Ship a real product
The Chamber of Us (TCUS) is building Libelle
, a next‑generation volunteer‑matching system built on data ethics, transparent architecture, and sovereign computation. We’re deploying the MVP on a self‑hosted Raspberry Pi Pathfinder Node — a sovereign micro‑server we control end‑to‑end. Our backend (FastAPI + Sheets/Drive integration) is ready, our résumé parser works, and our matching engine is live.
Now we need a production‑minded engineer to bring the frontend to life. This role is suitable for mid‑level engineers, senior devs, or any full‑stack builder who wants ownership of a meaningful, shippable system.
The ChallengeYou will own the front‑end architecture and delivery of Libelle v0.1.
- Build clean, resilient React/Next.js UI components
- Implement file upload → FastAPI flow (PDF parsing pipeline)
- Display parser results and match recommendations
- Build onboarding and consent screens
- Add privacy‑forward UX patterns
- Work directly with our backend lead and PM (Kevin)
- Ship to a sovereign Pi deployment — no AWS, no black boxes
This is not a toy project. It is a real, deployed MVP serving 100–200 volunteers.
