Job Description:
The client requires the services of a Specialist to provide leadership and perform tasks associated with current operational maintenance and future-state decommissioning of CA Gen applications. The client requires the assistance of a contract resource to serve as a CA Gen Applications Developer. This position will be responsible for maintaining and decommissioning application software solutions using CA Gen (formerly known as COOL Gen).

This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze user requirements for decommissioning current CA Gen applications while maintaining the support of the CA Gen applications until full decommissioning is complete. This role requires a deep understanding of CA Gen development methodologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical design specifications.
• Design, develop, and test application software solutions using CA Gen development tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient workflow.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and issues promptly.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with established coding standards.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Provide support and mentoring as CA Gen applications are being decommissioned.
• Adhere to project timelines, deliverables, and quality standards set by the organization.
• Document application specifications, user manuals, and technical guides.

Skills:
Experience with CA Gen modeling (Required, 7 Years), with COBOL development (Required, 7 Years), with CICS development (Required, 7 Years), with Database design (Required, 7 Years), with Online and Batch operations and support (Required, 7 Years) with Endevor. Highly desired:
Experience working in an Agile environment.
