Responsible for safely transporting material from a client’s location to an assigned destination for processing or disposal. Performs tasks to load and unload material utilizing commercial trucks and/or heavy/agricultural equipment, including tankers and end dump trailers in an off‑road environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES- Complete a daily truck log and submit reports of mileage covered at EOD
- Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public
- Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment
- Comply with all DOT, state, local, and in‑house regulations, procedures, and rules
- Operate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times
- Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination
- Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site, which may involve overnight travel
- Clean bio‑solids off truck/equipment before leaving the field site or landfill
- Perform shop clean‑up, maintenance, and equipment/tools set‑up
- Ability to backup truck/equipment
- Ability to memorize routes
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to work varying shifts, overtime hours, and/or weekend duties
- Ability to operate truck/equipment safely
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with tanker endorsement preferred
- Minimum 3 years roll‑off experience preferred
- Safe driving record:
No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years, and no DWI/DUI in the last 10 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting, climbing, balancing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting 75 lbs., fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and vision
- Exposure to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather
- Exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation affecting the respiratory system and skin
- Exposure to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, work on scaffolding and high places, high heat, or bio‑solids
$17.00–$20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
