About the RoleThe Warehouse Technician is based in Concord, NC and is responsible for all duties associated with shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment, maintaining safe and secure warehouse operations, and ensuring accurate inventory storage and movement of raw materials and finished products.
Key Accountabilities- Receive and log inbound materials using packing slips and purchase orders.
- Process, pick, pack, stage, and ship all outbound materials and customer orders.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and participate in cycle counts.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, powered pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks.
- Pass forklift testing and operate a forklift safely and effectively.
- Pass DOT physical and drive a 26' straight truck.
- Band and stretch‑wrap materials using banding and stretch‑wrapping equipment.
- Accurately locate and dispose of materials for manufacturing processes or finished goods shipments.
- Enter transactions accurately into the ERP system.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare and complete bills of lading and shipping lists.
- Coordinate pickups of recyclables.
- Provide assistance with the administration and purchasing of materials.
- Adhere to operator instructions; maintain work quality per company standards.
- Demonstrate good communication within the department and across functions; participate in cross‑functional teams.
- Cross‑train in all aspects of inventory management.
- Communicate via telephone and e‑mail in a friendly, professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and legible daily records.
- Participate in employee involvement activities and ISO 9000 initiatives.
- Practice excellent safety and environmentally sound habits; plan safety into all work activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment that meets facility standards and participates in 6S activities.
- Organize warehouse space efficiently.
- Ensure breaks and lunches are taken properly.
- Support data management and work with Production to maximize throughput.
- Maintain updated product information in the ERP system.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate findings.
- Maintain professional relationships with area management and coworkers.
- Participate in Team Roles associated with Tier progression.
- Palletize finished goods, verify inventory accuracy, and scan goods to rack locations.
- Keep all Celgard information confidential.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- License: Valid and active U.S. Driver's License.
- Experience: Prior warehouse experience and straight‑truck operation preferred.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts and other PIVs safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving principles and guidelines.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, especially in a warehouse setting, preferred.
- Experience using barcode scanners.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to locate information quickly.
- Effective communication skills with team members and other departments.
- Strong organizational skills and accurate record keeping.
- Adaptability to changing workplace demands.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to lead meetings when required.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality of company information.
Work requires standing and walking for up to 80% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Employees may lift up to 25 pounds and/or push or pull objects as needed.
Position HoursMonday – Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
CertificationsCelgard manufacturing sites are IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified.
