We operate structured, audit‑ready facilities and work to OEM and client standards across all aspects of our operations.

The Role

This role suits a mechanic who takes pride in workmanship, understands OEM rebuild standards, and is comfortable working in a structured, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls of mobile mining equipment and components
  • Strip, inspect, measure, repair, and reassemble major components including engines, transmissions, differentials, final drives, and hydraulics
  • Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults using OEM manuals and specifications
  • Complete work to Gateway, OEM, and client quality standards
  • Accurately complete job cards, inspection reports, and QA documentation
  • Identify and report defects, non‑conformances, and scope variations
  • Comply with all Gateway safety systems including SOPs, SWPs, JHAs, and isolations
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, peers, and apprentices
About You

Essential:

  • Trade qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic / Diesel Fitter
  • Experience in a repair and rebuild or major component workshop
  • Strong knowledge of mobile mining equipment systems
  • Ability to interpret OEM manuals, drawings, and specifications
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Strong safety mindset and disciplined work practices

Desirable:

  • OEM rebuild experience (CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi or similar)
  • Major component rebuild experience
  • Exposure to maintenance management systems
  • High‑risk licences such as Forklift, Dogging, or Rigging
What Gateway Offers
  • Stable, workshop‑based repair and rebuild work
  • Well‑equipped facilities with structured rebuild processes
  • Competitive rates based on skills and experience
  • Overtime, shift work, or FIFO options where applicable
  • Strong safety culture and professional working environment
  • Opportunity to work on high‑value mining equipment rebuilds
