We are working with a well-established business within the construction equipment sector who are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic to join their workshop team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be servicing, maintaining and repairing specialist construction machinery. You will be carrying out fault finding, repairs and general maintenance, mainly from a well-equipped and organised workshop.
You will be working closely with an experienced Workshop Manager and will also occasionally be out visiting customers, assisting with site work or supporting with deliveries when needed.
This would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in doing a job properly and wants to be part of a business where their experience is genuinely valued.
Key Responsibilities of the Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic:
• Servicing, maintaining and repairing construction plant and specialist machinery
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out effective repairs to a high standard
• Repairing customer-owned equipment
• Occasionally visiting customers or attending site when required
• Occasionally helping customers who visit the workshop for repairs or technical advice
• Supporting with occasional deliveries when needed
• Completing job records, safety checks and certification paperwork
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
Key Requirements of the Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic:
• Previous experience repairing and servicing plant, construction equipment, hire equipment or industrial machinery
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Electrical diagnostic experience would be beneficial
• A practical, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
• Good organisation and timekeeping
• Confident communication skills
• A full UK driving licence
• A team-focused attitude
• Experience with in construction, plant hire or machinery repair would be highly beneficial
