Are you looking to join a growing, values-led organisation with a clear social purpose?

At Settle Paradigm, we’re proud to be the largest housing group in the region, managing over 30,000 homes across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire.

Everything we do is about delivering excellent services, high quality homes, neighbourhoods we can be proud of and maximising number of new affordable homes we build. Through our merger we’ve brought together shared values, skills and ambition, so we can build more affordable homes and make an even bigger difference in the communities we serve

If you're ready to grow your career in a supportive, inclusive environment while helping to shape stronger communities, we’d love to welcome you on our journey. Together, we’re building a better future.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Fire Stopping Specialist with strong passive fire protection knowledge and proven fire safety compliance experience. This is not a general carpentry role - it is focused on delivering compliant fire stopping, fire compartmentation works, assisted fire door maintenance and associated fire risk actions across occupied homes.

You’ll need to understand fire stopping systems, correct installation methods, manufacturer guidance and the importance of evidencing work to BM Trada, FIRAS or equivalent standards. If you’re a qualified fire stopping professional who takes pride in safe, accurate and high-quality work, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Our Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring our homes meet all Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) requirements and remain safe for residents. In this role, you’ll focus on completing fire stopping and passive fire protection actions across our housing stock, alongside assisting with fire door works and associated maintenance, helping us maintain compliant compartmentation and protect residents in the event of a fire.

You’ll work on projects across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, usually staying in one area until the project is complete before moving to the next. The work will often take place in communal areas and occupied homes. So professionalism, clear communication and care for residents are essential.

Compartmentation and working conditions

A strong understanding of fire compartmentation is essential. You’ll need to recognise how walls, floors, ceilings, service penetrations, risers, cupboards and voids contribute to the overall fire strategy and ensure any fire stopping works maintain the integrity of those compartments.

The role will also involve working in tight or restricted spaces, including service cupboards, risers, ceiling voids and other access-limited areas. You’ll need to be comfortable working carefully and safely in these environments while maintaining high standards of workmanship and accurate evidence records.
