Job Summary
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist provides supplemental on-site service support in the areas of conversions, ordering stock, putting orders away, handling of service & equipment, and expediting special product or service situations.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
- Unpacks orders, checks accuracy of shipment, and puts stock away.
- Ensures bins have appropriate customer stock levels, generates new orders for merchandise where appropriate, obtains customer’s pre‑approval to place orders when required, and submits orders.
- Processes return merchandise authorizations as needed.
- Performs general housekeeping of service equipment and immediate area to supplement the Company’s value package.
- Utilizes company technology to complete daily tasks, order generation, tracking, routing as defined by the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years’ work experience in assembly, preferably in an ISO certified environment.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity.
- Background in lean manufacturing a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
- Must be able to report to assigned office location during scheduled in‑office workdays.
- Strong command of the English language, verbally and written (multilingual a plus).
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Must be computer literate (ex. MS Windows, MS Office).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Possess good networking skills and contacts.
- Team oriented, collegial, and collaborative.
- Strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and work with a sense of urgency.
- Proven ability to multi‑task, set project priorities, establish goals and objectives for self and staff.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co‑workers, and customers. Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, operate a motor vehicle and forklift (if position requires); strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium physical work. Specific vision requirements include close visual acuity to inspect manufactured parts (with or without magnification), prepare/analyze data and figures; viewing a computer terminal;
extensive reading. Hearing and speech are required to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator. Position may involve bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing. Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with proper equipment.
Conditions
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- This position is exposed to large moving equipment, including motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, lift trucks, and conveyor belts.
