Start a Career, Not Just a Job
Most oil change jobs are dead ends. This one isn't.
McGrath Kia of Highland Park is looking for a Lube Technician to join our express service team — and we're looking for someone who wants to grow. Whether you have shop experience or you're coming from retail, warehouse, or food service and ready to learn a trade, we'll train you. Our best technicians started exactly where you are.
Here's the path in front of you:
Lube Technician → Kia Certified Technician → Kia Master Technician. We pay for your Kia factory training and certifications, and we promote from within. You'll learn on late-model vehicles, including the newest Kia EVs and hybrids — the technology the entire industry is moving toward.
We're a family-owned dealership group serving Chicagoland since 1946, and we're building something different in Highland Park: a dealership that runs on hospitality, not pressure. We treat our guests like a five-star hotel treats theirs — and we treat our team the same way.
We're also building it literally. A brand-new, state-of-the-art facility is under construction right now. Join now and you'll work in one of the newest Kia service departments in the Chicago market.
What You'll Do- Perform oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections
- Check and top off fluids; inspect belts, hoses, wipers, filters, and batteries
- Document inspection findings accurately so our advisors can keep guests informed
- Keep your bay clean, organized, and safe
- Move vehicles through the service drive efficiently and treat every car like it's your own
- Learn — from our certified techs and Kia's factory training program
- A valid driver's license and a clean enough record to drive customer vehicles (required)
- Reliability — you show up on time, every time
- Comfort working with your hands and a willingness to learn
- Attention to detail (in this job, small misses become big problems)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet in a shop environment
- A positive attitude — our guests see our service drive, and our culture shows
No dealership experience required. If you've turned wrenches on your own car, worked at a quick lube, or just know you want a hands-on career, we want to hear from you.
