The Leadership Counselor will plan, implement and engage middle school-aged youth in both traditional summer camp activities and community engagement through our 4-week Leadership in Training Camp. The 2026 LIT themes may include but are not limited to First Response and Leadership
-planning and collaboration with community organizations is required leading up to camp. Supply lists are due by May 29, 2026. Although the Leadership Counselor will primarily be working with a small subsect of campers, all camp staff are expected to work together to create a fun, safe environment for all campers.

Leadership in Training Camp runs from July 6, 2026 – July 24, 2026. The ability to work additional weeks of camp as a substitute counselor through August 14, 2026 is desired.

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create, organize, submit, and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans
  • Engage campers in daily planned activities
  • Set‑up and clean‑up activities
  • Maintain inventory of program supplies, make orders as needed
  • Understand camper behaviors and respond appropriately
  • Be vigilant and follow all safety guidelines provided by the camp
  • Participate in all staff trainings and meetings
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Age 21+
  • Experience in and passion for your specialized activity
  • Experience in summer camp, recreation, or childcare environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
