Position: 24|7/365 BEYOND

24|7|365 Beyond Club Supervisor

24|7|365 Beyond was developed to ensure that we celebrate our multitude of identities within and beyond the one-month diversity observance practice. The name is designed to signify that ALL stories are part of our history, our present, and the future ALL of the time. 24|7|365 embraces the celebratory factor that the national heritage month calendar provides while deepening the district's responsibility to offer more opportunities to explore the history, current events, and future goals of highlighted groups.

The club supervisor will collaborate with students, school organizations, staff, and community members to develop and implement programs/events related to 24|7|365. Programming will focus on students' development of intercultural competence and educational opportunities that increase students' capacity for critical thought around issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, as well as their ability to engage across differences and create inclusive spaces in their immediate environment.

The 24|7|365 sponsor will work in partnership with the Student Activities Directors and the Director of Equity & Inclusion to identify current structures to create new opportunities for the success of this program.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Working with students to apply tenets of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work and social justice education to appropriately and effectively guide and manage the design & implementation of events, as well as the cultural differences within a group environment.
  • Working with students to envision, develop, and implement school-sponsored programs that honor, promote education about and celebrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, such as Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, Native American Heritage Month, Women's History Month, and LGBTQ History Month etc.
  • Communicating with and seeking the support of the Student Activities and Equity & Inclusion Directors.
  • Working to establish strong partnerships with various clubs and organizations.
  • Meeting times are once a week, plus supervision of planned events.
