Youth Minister

Job Position:
Trinity Grace Church (TGC) Youth Minister (Part Time)

Job Description:

• Preach in the Highland Park and Long Grove youth programs at least once a month
• Coordinate with the Full Time Youth Minister in organizing and teaching the Sunday School curriculum at both the Highland Park and Long Grove locations

• Build relationships with youths through visitation/meetup and counseling
• Shepherd youth spiritual growth with the support of other Youth Ministry Team members and congregational Pastors and Elders.
• Disciple selected youths to build a core youth student leadership team

• Formulate youth ministry mission and strategy under the overall TGC church vision
• Help coordinate newcomer follow-up and outreach activities
• Encourage parental involvement with the discipleship of youth
• Plan and co-lead Friday night gatherings with the Full-Time Youth Minister

Ministry Load: 30 hours per week (potential to convert to full-time)

Pay:Pay type is hourly, $22-30 hour depending on experience.

Accountability: The position is under the supervision of the lead pastor and reports to the TGC Board of Elders.

Duration: One year (renewable)

Qualifications:

• The candidate must demonstrate the biblical character traits and ministry skills laid out in 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12; 1 Timothy 3:1-7;
  Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4.
• In particular, the candidate must demonstrate a calling and heart for youth ministry, a willingness to provide pastoral care to youth, personal humility to lead and work with others, and courage to speak the word of truth.
• In addition, he or she must demonstrate such ministry skills as correctly handling the word of truth in preaching and teaching, confidence in providing spiritual care and counseling, good communication skills with the teams and the congregation.
• It is preferable that the candidate has a seminary educationor some biblical/theological training.
• The candidate must have legal working status in the United States.
• The candidate should be fluent in verbal and written English
