Description
Purpose:
To provide necessary support for the Company's Process Engineering objectives. The Process Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant by performing the following duties.
The right candidate will be self motivated, embrace change and should embrace a balance of being on the plant floor and in the office.
Essential Duties:
* Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
* Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of
equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
* Confers with customer and supplier design staffs concerning product design and tooling to ensure
efficient production methods.
* Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment,
materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
* Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for
management decisions.
* Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities,
production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
* Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
* Develops reports to Korean and US management about day to day operations.
* Performs other and/or special assignments as delegated.
Requirements
Education / Skill / Experience Requirements:
* 4-yr College degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering and preferably a minimum of
3 years experience in the automotive field.
* Automotive parts assembly experience preferred with 0-2 years experience in the assembly of
modular component systems. Must have working knowledge of manufacturing processes and
knowledge of Quality Assurance Techniques with emphasis on Manufacturing Processes Problem
Solving and Automotive Quality Requirements.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
* Excellent oral/written communication, presentation, reporting, and interpersonal skill required.
* Strong general office software skills required for Microsoft Office package - Word, Excel,
Power Point, Outlook.
