General Statement of DutiesAn assistant football coach plays a crucial role in supporting the head coach and ensuring the smooth operation of the team. Their duties include developing and implementing training programs, analyzing game footage to devise strategies, providing individualized feedback to players to enhance their skills, assisting in player tryouts, coordinating practice sessions, managing equipment, and serving as a mentor and motivator to foster a positive team environment.
EssentialDuties
- Assist in the management of the soccer program.
- Assist in preparing players for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching fundamental skills, and imparting knowledge of the rules.
- Assist in reviewing eligibility forms and submitting them to the Student Activities Director.
- Assist in collecting all health physical forms.
- Monitor student academic progress.
- Assist in cleaning, storing, and properly caring for team equipment.
- Assist in requisitions for supplies, uniforms, and necessary equipment through the Student Activities Director.
- Foster good school‑community relations by keeping the community informed and engaged with the athletic program.
- Assist in organizing pre‑season meetings with parents.
- Help prepare daily practice schedules and conduct practice sessions.
- Attend VHSL clinics as required.
- Follow county financial policies regarding the collection and receipting of funds.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in the management of the program through previous experience as a coach or player.
- Previous coaching experience, knowledge of the sport, and current understanding of coaching techniques and strategies.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to mentor and motivate student‑athletes.

Minimum Salary - $3,223.75
The stipend stated in this posting is based on the current school year’s pay plan. Compensation for the 2025‑2026 school year will be determined once the financial plan is approved and adopted in the Spring of 2025.
