WhatYou'll Be Doing
As a Merchandise Coordinator, you'll be the driving force behind how merchandise flows from delivery truck to the sales floor. Every shift, you'll orchestrate receiving operations, prioritize processing work, and ensure Associates execute efficiently as a unified team — all while modeling exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean, organized store environment.
- Orchestrate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor
- Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
- Ensure all merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
- Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to maintain an efficient flow of goods
- Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment
- Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy, signage standards, and backroom cleanliness
- Promote credit and loyalty programs while supporting shrink-reduction goals
- Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous-waste programs where applicable
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe store environment
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates on priorities and progress
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
- Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
The ideal candidate combines grit with adaptability. You should have at least one year of retail experience and six months of leadership background — whether that means coaching new hires, guiding daily workflows, or stepping up during peak periods. Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to multitask without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Flexibility is key: you must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Additionally, you should be comfortable lifting heavy objects, responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations, and working collaboratively with peers and supervisors at every level.
