Overview
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Slot Technical, the Senior Slot Technician is responsible for administering proper training while on shift for Slot Technicians, Slot Attendants, and Slot Floor Supervisors. The Senior Slot Technician works closely with Lead Slot Technicians to ensure slot products are operational and available for revenue generation. The Senior Slot Technician is required to perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on gaming machines and machine components, including the communications systems that encompass them (network switches and slot accounting system), while complying with internal control procedures for department and enterprise policies.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoots gaming machines, ticketing systems, and slot accounting systems; performs general maintenance tasks/repairs to gaming machines and related systems; assists floor staff with any issues that may arise.
- Works closely with Lead Slot Technicians to address work orders and repair games that are in a state of inoperability, bringing them back into service.
- Prepares games, checks part compatibility, and conducts functional testing; programs game set‑up options as dictated by configuration worksheets; performs testing for accuracy to ensure games perform within selected options.
- Properly documents repairs, preventive maintenance, machine prep, standard power analysis, and pre‑work site surveying; reads and translates schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and planning; compiles and reports information regarding trends, problems, and engineering issues to supervision; follows documentation, policies, and procedures with limited supervision.
- Performs advanced machine and component repair, including logic board repair and troubleshooting of player tracking and accounting system components.
- Completes department and enterprise–related documentation; sends and receives pertinent work emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs all job duties of the Slot Technician as needed for assistance.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Degree or Certification in Electronics preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in slot and/or electronic repair and maintenance; ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical slot machine malfunctions required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of training experience preferred.
- Trained and able to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Understands the basics of machine parts, harnessing, and cabinets of machines in use at the casino.
- Continually develops technical skills associated with technical slot department operations; able to pass periodic technical examinations to determine skill levels.
- Can read electronic schematics and color codes.
- Proficient in using computers and electronic devices.
- Able to speak and write in English for required communication.
- Physically capable of carrying machine keys, electronic devices, a radio, tools, and notebook on shift.
- Can multi‑task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills.
- Maintains a strict level of confidentiality and acts consistently with all legal and regulatory requirements and relevant laws and regulations.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Driving Responsibilities:
No driving responsibilities – the role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
- Primary work environment is a climate‑controlled casino setting.
- Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment.
