ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum two (2) years of work experience and/or training in Audit, Accounting, Fraud, Risk, Compliance, or related investigative or risk‑based experience required.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational requirements indicated above.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSA)
- Demonstrated proactive problem‑solving and execution of job responsibilities.
- Intermediate computer skills and user‑level proficiency in Microsoft Office, emphasizing Excel; ability to apply data extraction and analysis techniques in Excel to support audits and sampling activities.
- Familiarity with GAAP, GAAS, National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Controls (MICS), and COSO.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion, including Social Security numbers, credit card data, personal information, and financial records.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain policies, procedures, and audit findings in both one‑on‑one and group settings, and to respond effectively to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of management.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, a gaming license may be required and maintained. The role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits are required. The position does not involve operating or driving tribe‑owned vehicles or patron vehicles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS /WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENTPrimary work environment is a climate‑controlled office setting with occasional travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Work may require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Employees must be able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment, lift up to 10 pounds occasionally and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally, and perform repetitive motions. Conditions include prolonged sitting and regular use of a computer and office equipment.
