ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, analyzes, and maintains departmental annual budgets across multiple cost centers; compiles and analyzes financial data and trends, prepares budget estimates with justification, provides relevant recommendations, and ensures timely submission of required documentation in alignment with department standards.
- Monitors expenditures by tracking capital projects, vendor invoices, reconciling purchase orders, and verifying payment accuracy using financial accounting systems; reviews and verifies invoices for accuracy against budget, purchase orders, and/or contracts and agreements;
Prepares and analyzes monthly expenditure and staffing reports for departmental management. - Conducts quantitative and qualitative assessments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; assesses various cost benefit scenarios; preforms "what-if" analysis; recommends data-driven strategies to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Provides administrative, planning, and technological support across CPSO departments by drafting, formatting, and revising internal documents, agreements, and correspondence; maintains and updates databases and dashboards and ensures timely data entry and retrieval for reporting and decision-making.
- Collaborates with the Senior Manager and departmental leadership to ensure continuity of operations during absences; contributes to strategic planning discussions, supports policy implementation, and assists in monitoring progress toward departmental goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance or related field required.
- Minimum four (4) years' experience managing multi-cost center budgets, tracking expenditures, reporting result and trends, or closely related work required.
- Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSA)
- Ability to apply relevant math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers, as well as working with decimals and percentages.
- Experience in the ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data in determining actual or probable consequences and in referencing such evaluations to identify and select alternatives.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify needs and requirements, develop recommendations, and evaluate outcomes against goals and objectives.
- Ability to manage large data sets to identify patterns and trends.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; demonstrate ability to think creatively and strategically, articulate complex issues to a wide audience, and prepare written assessments as needed.
- Must have advance knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Requires the ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act in a manner consistent with all legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
