ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Bachelor's degree in security management, administration of justice, public administration or related field required.
Minimum two (2) years' experience with a law enforcement or security organization with at least one (1) year experience conducting sophisticated investigations required.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSA)
- Ability to conduct related threat analysis and intelligence operations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual communication skills are preferred.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Knowledge of criminal law, investigations techniques, related vicarious civil and legal liabilities, search and seizure, use of force, lawful detention, and probable cause is required.
- Knowledge of gaming, Indian gaming and casino related operations, and public law 280 is a preferred.
- Knowledge of surveillance techniques, interviewing and interrogation techniques, and modern public safety techniques pertaining to all department divisions is required.
- Knowledge of the security industry and developed relationships with a variety of security professionals is preferred.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Obtain and maintain a valid BSIS Gun, Guard Card, and DPS Training Requirements, including passing BSIS courses in Powers of Arrest and Firearms Certification.
- Comply with all current requirements set forth by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) for Armed Security Officers within 90 days of employment.
- Authorized Driver:
Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work environment varies between climate-controlled office setting, gaming facility and outdoor areas. Employees will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions such as rain, wind, cold, and hot climates.
Must be able to work long hours under difficult and arduous conditions, frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, secondhand smoke and moderate noise levels (loud music), while standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must have acceptable hearing levels in order to properly monitor radio transmissions.
