Pool Lifeguard; Part Time​/Temp

Reporting to the Supervisor, Pool Services, the Pool Lifeguard is an outgoing, motivated individual capable of adapting to change in a fast past pool and hospitality environment. Demonstrates passion for people, encouraging and inspiring guests to elevate their wellness and aquatic experience, while creating a safe, fun and enjoyable best in class atmosphere. Contributes to the pool facilities, while preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies.

Responsible for operational excellence while providing a clean and safe environment for all patrons, team members and vendors, while safeguarding enterprise assets and guaranteeing departmental integrity. Collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribes vision, mission and values.

• Is responsible for modeling, welcoming the guests, making them comfortable, and providing them with best in class guest service, including but not limited to; providing our guest with safety communication, and anticipating their service needs while keeping safety at the utmost attention.
• Is responsible for the safety of hotel guests at the pool deck and all aquatic activities, providing safe supervision of guests while enforcing pool rules and regulations.
• Prevents and responds to aquatic emergencies and is capable of recognizing emergencies, respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and other incidents.
• Delivers and executes best in class safety, sanitation and cleanliness procedures pertaining to pool facilities.
• Assists facilities team in setting up and tearing down chairs and pool furniture for day-to-day operations and during extreme weather conditions.
• Models enterprise and department policies and procedures as well as Standard Operating Guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in Lifeguard certification and service required
• Possess at the time of application and maintained valid throughout employment:
  Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. – Required
• Previous experience in a spa, resort or pool environment - Highly Preferred.

• Ability to work outdoors in seasonal heat or cold as well as inclement weather
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management, both verbally and in writing a must.
• Handling of multiple guest simultaneously
• Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to provide a genuine and sincere service experience in a friendly and professional manner.
• Must have demonstrated ability exercising utmost discretion with confidential information including, but not limited to: personal and or health information from customers.
• Must actively listen to provide optimal service tailored to guest requests.
• Ability to consistently pay attention to guest and detail to safety in a fast-paced, high demand environment required.
• Must have experience working under pressure
• Must be comfortable working in both spa and casino environment.
• Must be comfortable with sitting and standing for long hours.
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under challenging situations.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

• At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
• Proof of Lifeguard Certificate including Lifeguard training, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
