Special Education Teacher

Applicants must be willing to learn and implement a comprehensive system for student's behavior and functioning. They must be trained in the structure of the SDEP program and ACT by the district's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). They should upload student data on a regular basis to the BCBA. They should consult with Director of Special Services, Principal, and BCBA on a regular basis to maintain programming integrity and functionality.

They need to individualize lessons and deliver instruction to students with a variety of academic and behavioral needs. They should demonstrate strong classroom management, including the use of trauma-informed practices. They should demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills. They should demonstrate high expectation for behavior and learning. They should receive training and be prepared to use CPI restraint when necessary.

They need to learn and use on-line IEP software and write IEPs according to district guidelines. They should manage and work collaboratively with paraprofessionals (program assistants). They should cooperate with teachers to support a collaborative school culture. Extra curricular/coaching opportunities may be available.

Must meet requirements for reimbursement as an LBS I Endorsed Teacher. Salary:
Based on HEA contract.
