Lunchroom And Noon Supervisor

Meridian CUSD 223 is seeking a lunchroom and noon supervisor for Highland Grade School. To supervise lunchroom and outdoor noon recess activities and assist students to be self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers and community contributors.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive district information
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Ability to work with students and adults in a positive manner
  • Physically and emotionally able to perform job responsibilities
  • Ability to attend work regularly and punctually and complete duties in a timely manner
  • Of good moral character and possessing temperate, ethical, and industrious habits
  • Knowledge of basic supervisory skills
  • Skilled in problem solving and resolving issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff verbally

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Adhere to the Board of Education policies and procedures
  • Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
  • Prompt arrival and full effort throughout the duration of every shift
  • Report suspected child abuse/neglect cases as required by statute and district policy
  • Work cooperatively with other school personnel
  • Assist in supervising students' lunch room and recess activities
  • Assist in lunchroom set-up and the preparation of the cafeteria for serving
  • Maintain a clean, neat appearance, appropriate to position
  • Adhere to guidelines of confidentiality as outlined in federal and state laws and School Board Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain a record of appropriate attendance and punctuality
  • Serve as optimal role model for students, colleagues, and the general public
  • Comply with all district and school policies and regulations
  • Represent the district well in interactions with all stakeholders
  • Participate in building and/or district initiatives as reasonable

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; and talk or hear
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to stand and walk
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Other physical demands of the positions include: regular bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting/turning/balancing, reaching above shoulder/outward, and walking around the playground to supervise
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
