Overview

The Commercial Banking Senior Administrative Specialist (CBSAS) works closely with lenders and portfolio managers to facilitate loan requests from inception through closing. The role is the front‑line ambassador for Centier Bank to business banking clients, handling loan inquiries, documentation, and client communication.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Mentor and coach other CBAS staff.
  • Assist with performance reviews of team members.
Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality customer service, establishing rapport, identifying needs, recommending solutions, and handling objections.
  • Interpret and present bank products and services; master loan submission software.
  • Gather and follow up on loan presentations submitted to credit analysts.
  • Review loan requests for lending authority and compliance with policy and laws.
  • Collect and review documentation (title work, judgments, lien searches, appraisals, surveys, flood certifications, insurance, entity documents).
  • Store necessary documentation in the image storing system for future use.
  • Submit and route credit requests to the Credit Document Processor (CDP) for loan preparation.
  • Provide support for complex loan requests (attorney‑prepared, SWAP, C & I, leases, SBA loans).
  • Review documents before closing for accuracy; prepare documents not prepared by CDP (Reg B, CIP, Beneficial Ownership, W‑9, other disclosures).
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on attorney‑prepared loans, review for accuracy, and correspond with attorneys as needed.
  • Coordinate closing schedules and deliver closing packages to lenders or title companies.
  • Confirm signed documents, scan, notify the Loan Operations Booking Team, and distribute loan documents for processing.
  • Prepare tickets for collection and disbursement of loan proceeds and fees.
  • Handle non‑complex loan closings in the lender’s absence; attend title company closings when possible.
  • Process retail transactions through CSI Passport Teller (Corporate Centre only).
  • Resolve client problems and complaints quickly, alone or with management support.
  • Call clients about loan delinquencies under 45 days on a weekly basis.
  • Assist lenders with mature loans and renewals; request ongoing financial information from clients.
  • Ensure each client loan file is up‑to‑date and fully documented throughout the loan process.
  • Review and approve wire transfers in compliance with bank guidelines.
  • Assist in training new BBAA staff; travel to locations if necessary.
  • Assist with special duties, committee memberships, or other tasks as assigned.
  • Identify and refer clients to specialists in other departments for product, services, or electronic delivery channels.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer business.
  • Pursue educational opportunities, seminars, and training to stay current with commercial lending laws.
  • Engage in personal development activities (online learning, internal/external training).
  • Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work area per dress and clean desk policies.
  • Adhere to the Essentials of Excellence and embody corporate values in all transactions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma; 3–5 years of commercial lending experience.
  • Detail oriented, well‑organized, capable of multitasking.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of loan scoring software, loan documentation, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read and understand governing instruments and legal documents.
