Who We Are

Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) is growing fast — and we’re here for the pets who need us most. With 6 emergency veterinary hospitals across the Midwest
, our goal is simple: bring high-quality, 24/7 emergency care to communities that don’t have it.

Because pets do not care that it’s 2:47 AM. Emergencies don’t exactly respect business hours.

We’re here when they need us — nights, weekends, holidays, and everything in between.

What Life Is Like At Evcc

At EVCC, we care. Like, actually care.

Whether it’s a sick pet, a worried pet parent, or one of our own team members walking through the door, we want everyone to feel supported.

We’re veterinarian-led, which means our DVMs aren’t just invited to the conversation — they’re helping lead it.

EVCC was started by 36 local general practice veterinarians, and most are still involved today. That means collaboration isn’t just something we put on a poster. It’s part of how we operate.

And let’s be real: emergency veterinary medicine is incredibly rewarding, but it can also be a lot.

That’s why we invest in our people through:

  • Continuing education
  • Career growth + promotion opportunities
  • A genuinely supportive team environment
  • A workplace where people and pets come first
THE ROLE:

REGIONAL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

You’re not coming in to be the person who fixes every single problem.

You’re coming in to build leaders who can.

The Regional Operations Director creates the environment for our hospitals, leaders, and teams to consistently deliver:

  • Exceptional patient care
  • Amazing client experiences
  • Engaged, supported teams
  • Strong + sustainable financial performance

Your success won’t be measured by how many fires you personally put out.

It’ll be measured by how strong your leaders become, how consistently our hospitals execute, and how healthy the organization is long-term.

Basically: build the team, build the systems, make it sustainable.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll know you’re crushing it when:

  • Hospital Managers + Medical Directors operate as true partners with shared accountability.
  • Hospitals consistently deliver exceptional patient care and client experiences.
  • Leaders grow through coaching, leading to stronger teams, better engagement, and higher retention.
  • Financial goals are hit through smart planning, disciplined execution, and responsible resource management.
  • Operational standards, compliance requirements, and strategic initiatives are consistently executed across hospitals.
  • Teams embrace accountability, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Hospitals can run effectively without constant intervention because local leaders are empowered, capable, and accountable.
What You’ll Actually Do
  • Partner with the CVO to lead local hospital leadership teams across the region.
  • Identify and develop the next generation of Hospital Managers.
  • Coach Medical Directors so they can effectively engage, develop, and mentor their doctors.
  • Lead and/or support organization-wide projects and initiatives alongside Operations and Support Services.
  • Make sure clinical teams have the resources, tools, and support they need to operate efficiently and sustainably.
  • Partner with the CVO to hit clinical, operational, and financial goals across the region.
  • Own accountability for the region’s hospital + capital budgets.
  • Look for opportunities to grow hospital services and regularly bring recommendations to the COO.
  • Be the bridge between hospital leadership and executive leadership so everyone is aligned on medical + operational priorities.
  • Promote a team-based, patient-first approach to emergency medicine.
What We’re Looking For
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of hospital leadership experience.
  • At least 5 years of clinical emergency medicine experience.
  • A license (or eligibility to practice) in the relevant states.
  • Strong financial + business instincts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
