Description

We are seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee both quality control and receiving operations in our dairy facility. This role is hands-on and supervisory, ensuring that product standards are consistently met while also leading a small team and coordinating with cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities Quality Control (50%)
  • Supervise and perform inspection and testing of milk and dairy products to ensure compliance with company and regulatory quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate quality control records and documentation; ensure proper escalation of deviations.
  • Lead regular quality audits and monitor corrective actions as needed.
  • Train and support QA Technicians and production staff on quality protocols and food safety standards.
  • Partner with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyze trends and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Supervise cleaning and sanitation of containers, equipment, and work areas.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, sanitation, and regulatory protocols.
  • Provide guidance, scheduling, and support for QA/Receiving staff.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and quality departments to streamline operations and resolve issues.
Requirements Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or technical degree in food science, quality management, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a food manufacturing or dairy plant, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance, food safety standards (e.g., SQF, HACCP), and receiving procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead by example, manage workloads, and motivate a team.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy containers and standing for extended periods.
  • Proficient in basic computer systems and documentation practices.
