Job Description

Schedule:

2-3 days a week / every other weekend

Pay Range: $15 - $17

Location:

MBK Senior Living

Responsibilities
  • Essential duties related to resident care include responding promptly to resident needs, reading and following care plans, assisting with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, activities), providing assistance at mealtime, transporting residents as needed, performing safety checks, encouraging participation in activities, completing laundry, managing oxygen tanks per MD orders, charting and documenting information, and responding to resident alerts. (Refer to percentage of time as described in provided job description.)
  • Ensure resident safety and comfort at all times and assist with safety drills.

Job Duties
  • Display a positive and professional image in alignment with MBK core values
  • Encourage teamwork through open communication with coworkers and other departments
  • Demonstrate effective time management to complete daily resident assignments
  • Interact tactfully and professionally with residents, families, and guests
  • Adhere to MBK policies on meal breaks and rest periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership
Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Licenses, Certifications)
  • Age 18 or over, or have proper work permit/authorization
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Nurse Aide certification preferred
  • Current first aid certification
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Health screening and negative TB test results (within last 6 months or within 7 days of employment)
  • Prior caregiving experience preferred; on-the-job training available
  • Must be able to read and speak English
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
  • Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements
Physical Demands
  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical demands of caregiving, including kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching, bending
  • Must be able to lift 40+ pounds and push 150 pounds unassisted
