- Pay Range: $68,940 - $106,860 per year

The Film Director at Cherry Hills Community Church exists to lead the creation of produced story‑driven video content that supports weekend services, church‑wide campaigns, and digital outreach. This role owns the end‑to‑end filmmaking and post‑production pipeline, ensuring content is mission‑aligned, professionally executed, and delivered through scalable systems. Success in this role elevates storytelling quality, increases production capacity, and builds a foundation for a growing video team that supports CHCC’s mission and vision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Own all produced video content for CHCC, including testimonies, sermon bumpers, campaign videos, promos, recaps, welcome videos, and digital‑first storytelling.
- Lead the full filmmaking lifecycle for produced content, including concept development, pre‑production planning, shooting, editing, revisions, and final delivery.
- Direct and produce story‑driven ministry videos that clearly communicate the gospel and CHCC’s vision across in‑service playback and digital platforms.
- Establish and maintain professional post‑production workflows aligned with industry standards for editing, review, approvals, and version control.
- Develop and manage motion graphics systems and templates using After Effects for produced content, ensuring efficiency, brand consistency, and reuse.
- Plan and lead video shoots for produced content, including lighting, audio capture, camera operation, and on‑location direction.
- Serve as the primary owner of produced video asset management, including file naming conventions, folder structures, long‑term storage, backups, and archival reuse.
- Ensure produced video deliverables meet professional specifications for resolution, color, audio levels, captions, and platform‑specific formatting.
- Collaborate with the Communications Director on creative direction, messaging alignment, and production timelines for campaigns and storytelling initiatives.
- Partner with ministry leaders to translate ministry goals into clear creative briefs and executable production plans for produced content.
- Coordinate with the Live Video Director to deliver finished videos optimized for weekend playback, while not owning live broadcast execution or run‑of‑show decisions.
- Coordinate with marketing strategist to create weekly social media content.
- Train, equip, and mentor volunteers and interns in video editing, filmmaking fundamentals, and post‑production workflows.
- Lead the development of the video production team by training, mentoring, and contributing to future staffing and role design.
- Contribute to the long‑term development of the video ministry by helping define future staffing needs, roles, and scalable production systems.
- May directly supervise video production staff as the team grows, including editors, producers, or other creative roles.
- Provides day‑to‑day leadership for direct reports and volunteers by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, and fostering a healthy, Christ‑centered team culture.
- Participates in hiring processes for video staff and interns, including interviews, onboarding, and training, in partnership with the Communications Director and HR.
- Conducts performance check‑ins and contributes to performance evaluations and development plans in partnership with leadership and HR.
