Student Leadership Coordinator and Instructional Faculty

This position offices in-person, on campus

ROLE SUMMARY

As a valued member of the Student Culture and Affairs team, the Student Leadership Coordinator and Instructional Faculty member at Valor Christian High School will oversee and coordinate the school’s Student Leadership Program, guiding Valor’s student leaders in championing school culture through the advancement and implementation of fun, creative, community-building events. The Student Leadership Coordinator and Instructional Faculty will teach two sections of the Student Leadership course, providing classroom instruction that shepherds students in leadership development through a comprehensive curriculum encompassing the practical application of basic leadership concepts and theory.

Practical application is achieved through the planning, development, and execution of exceptional student events and activities by Student Leadership students, with this role providing guidance throughout the process. This position is required to work in the evenings and on weekends to fulfill appropriate supervision and direction of student leaders and school events.

Oversee and Coordinate Valor’s Student Leadership Program
  • Participate in vision-casting and implement annual operating plan goals developed in conjunction with the Director of Student Culture and Affairs

  • In collaboration with the Academic Leadership Team and the Director of Student Culture and Affairs, shepherd the development and implementation of a comprehensive leadership curriculum that provides learning opportunities to develop student leaders on the Valor Christian campus

  • Skillfully execute all administrative functions required to organize, promote, supervise, and evaluate student events and activities.

  • Provide oversight, direction, and guidance to student leaders in creating engaging community-building events, including Communities and Pep Assemblies, ensuring collaboration with the Academics, Athletics, Discovery, and Arts+Media departments. (Significant student events include homecoming, spirit of sharing week, wish week, prom, etc.)

  • Provide management and supervisor to Student Leadership to organize events, facilitate communication, manage student committee conferences, team-building sessions, and class retreats

  • Oversee annual selection process and appointment of Student Leadership VPs

  • Assist in the establishment and advisement of student clubs and organizations, providing structure and experiences to develop student leadership skills and abilities

  • Ensure the ongoing development of the Student Leadership Board and appropriate student leadership models to meet the needs of the Valor student body
