ROLE SUMMARYAn Academic Tutor at Valor Christian High School supports students’ academic and spiritual growth by identifying learning gaps, delivering individualized and differentiated instruction, and using engaging strategies that build critical thinking, communication, collaboration and innovation. Tutors provide a respectful, nurturing environment that meets students’ intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs while building trusting one-on-one relationships. They communicate effectively with teachers, parents and other constituents to champion student success, all while seamlessly weaving Biblical truth and Christian values into instruction, guiding students to grow academically and spiritually as future leaders who transform the world for Christ.

- Provide a learning environment built upon mutual respect and conductive to student learning
- Compassionately respond to the intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of each student
- Collaborate and communicate well with students, teachers, parents, coaches and mentors
- Differentiate instruction while tutoring to meet individual needs and goals of the student
- Foster trusting professional relationships in one‑on‑one tutoring settings
- Uphold and embody Valor’s culture as set forth in the Valor Culture Document
- Model servant leadership, grace and love in all relationships and interactions
- Develop relationships with colleagues with goals of teamwork, relational unity and spiritual growth
- Provide team support regarding all matters, processes and initiatives
- Demonstrate loyalty to teammates in action and word
- Assist Team members to facilitate school‑wide wins
- Assume collaborative responsibility for Operating Plan Goals and Fiscal stewardship
