Position Summary

Pharmacy Technician role at CVS Health ensures safe, accurate medication dispensing and exceptional patient service. The technician will be responsible for managing pharmacy workstations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and providing compassionate care to patients.

• Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to promptly, safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions.
• Support team in dispensing medications, preparing medication orders, and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.
• Assist in training and supervision of new Pharmacy Technicians until full registration is achieved.
• Provide accurate medication calculations, including dosage and day supply.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

• At least 16 years of age.
• Licensure requirements vary by state; must meet State Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
• Attention and focus: ability to concentrate on tasks without distraction.
• Customer service orientation: friendly, proactive, and attentive to customer needs.
• Communication skills: verbal and written communication; active listening and clear instruction delivery.
• Mathematical reasoning: ability to use math to solve problems such as calculating prescription day supply.
• Problem resolution: ability to identify issues and select appropriate solutions for complex situations.

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

• Remain upright on feet for sustained periods.
• Move about on foot to accomplish tasks.
• Use fingers for picking, pinching, typing, or other fine manipulation.
• Extend hands and arms in any direction.
• Bend forward and lower body by bending spine at waist.
• Stoop to a considerable degree, requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
• Communicate verbally with ability to convey detailed instructions accurately.
• Listen to spoken information at normal speaking levels.
• Maintain close visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing, viewing terminal, reading, inspecting small parts.
• Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs, and frequent lifting up to 10 lbs.
