Cyber Security Engineer Lead

Responsibilities

• Conduct cyber risk assessment activities, vulnerability analysis, and analysis of mitigation solutions to develop satellite and simulator cyber requirement baseline.
• Analyze, develop, and evaluate cyber RMF controls and cyber engineering requirements.
• Plan and implement appropriate program protection activities as required by customers.
• Implement Assessment and Authorization activities as required by customers.

• Assess satellite and system security threats/risks based on threat intelligence, MBCRA, and Dev Sec Ops  pipelines, and execute mitigation efforts throughout the program lifecycle for the satellite and simulation environments.
• Interact significantly with other engineering disciplines and the customer to implement and integrate satellite and system cyber requirements and associated verification methods/approaches within detailed system and security engineering assembly, integration, and testing.
• Lead the planning and execution of program protection including satellite and system software assurance, SCRM, criticality analysis, and AT plans.
• Prepare ATO, ATC, IATT satellite and system artifacts and packages per AO policy.
• Lead planning and implementing of NSA Type 1 cryptographic systems with satellite and systems.

• DoD 8570 experience.
• Experience with Authorization and Accreditation processes using NIST Risk Management Framework methodologies.
• Experience with DoD cyber test and evaluation requirements, policies, and procedures.

• Experience performing cybersecurity accreditation activities in support of software and system requirements, design, development, testing, and sustainment of approvals – Authority To Operate.
• Intuitive and proactive self-starter that’s accountable and mission focused.
• Familiarity with Aerospace TOR- based RMF control tailoring.
• Familiar with eMASS, HBSS, ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), DISA STIGs.
• Experience with secure configuration/hardening of DoD Information Systems.
• Experience with threat-based and intent-driven risk modeling, preferably classified Cyber Threat Intel Support.
• Experience briefing complex cyber security principles to all levels of knowledge and skill.
• Experience briefing high level customer stakeholders with cyber security concerns and remediation tactics.
• Knowledge of NIST 800‑30, 800‑37, 800‑53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD Cyber T&E Guidebook.
• Ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements to engineering and software development staff.
• Experience with satellite systems and embedded RTOS.
• Experience with NSA Type 1 cryptography and ECUs.

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.

TS/SCI

Annual base salary range varies by location, from $145,200 to $255,990 for California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC. Salary is a general guideline and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and market considerations.
