Position Overview
Cyber Security Engineer supporting the Skynet program at Lockheed Martin Space.
Responsibilities- Conduct cyber risk assessment activities, vulnerability analysis, and analysis of mitigation solutions to develop satellite and simulator cyber requirement baseline.
- Analyze, develop, and evaluate cyber RMF controls and cyber engineering requirements.
- Plan and implement program protection activities as required by customers.
- Implement appropriate Assessment and Authorization activities as required by customers.
- Assess satellite and system security threats/risks based on threat intelligence, MBCRA, and Dev Sec Ops pipelines, and execute mitigation efforts throughout program lifecycle.
- Interact with other engineering disciplines and customers to implement and integrate satellite and system cyber requirements and verification methods within detailed system and security engineering assembly, integration, and testing.
- Support the planning and execution of program protection including satellite and system software assurance, SCRM, criticality analysis, and AT plans.
- Prepare ATO, ATC, IATT satellite and system artifacts and packages per AO policy.
- Support planning and implementing NSA Type 1 cryptographic systems with satellite and systems.
- Experience performing cybersecurity accreditation activities supporting software and system requirements, design, development, testing, and sustainment of approvals.
- Intuitive and proactive self‑starter, accountable and mission focused.
- Familiarity with Aerospace TOR- based RMF control tailoring.
- Familiar with eMASS, HBSS, ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), DISA STIGs.
- Experience with Secure Configuration/Hardening of DoD Information Systems.
- Experience with threat‑based and Intel‑driven risk modeling, preferably classified Cyber Threat Intel Support.
- Experience briefing complex cyber security principles to all levels.
- Experience briefing high‑level customer stakeholders with cyber security concerns and remediation tactics.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-30, 800-37, 800-53, CNSSI 1253, as well as DoD Cyber T&E Guidebook.
- Ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements to engineering and software development staff.
- Experience with satellite systems and embedded RTOS.
- Experience with NSA Type 1 cryptography and ECUs.
Government security clearance required; US Citizen. Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
Salary & BenefitsAnnual base salary range: $123,500 – $217,695 (varies by state). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
