Responsibilities
Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86‑bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Littleton, CO. The nurse manager ensures coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practice, and hospital policy. The role supports the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and performance improvement efforts, supervises House Supervisors, RNs, and BHTs, monitors staffing needs on assigned shifts, assists the CNO with evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing training events for RN/BHT staff, and participates in treatment team meetings.

QualificationsRequirements: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience in nursing management;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of four years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting. Experience in staff education, educational concepts, practices and procedures, and 24‑hour shift staffing experience.
Licensure: Current license to practice nursing in Colorado.
Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of TJC, BHA, CDPHE and OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification within 30 days of employment and successful completion of training in Handle With Care. Certification training may be obtained during new hire orientation.
