This position is contingent on program award expected early Q2 2026.
This position is for an entry level Software Engineer supporting the Space Software Product Line Mobile User Objective System Service Life Extension (MUOS SLE) Flight Software Team. This role will support the entire flight software development lifecycle (design, integration, test) for the Bus and Payload Flight Software domains. Responsibilities could include working in a collaborative environment interaction with peers, other SSPL FSW, Smart Sat team members, and occasional customer interactions.
This includes supporting the development of Specifications and Interface Control Documents, creating test scenarios for code changes to test new capability or verify defect fix, and participating in system testing activities with other organizations. Development, testing, and verification of this software occurs in a dynamic, agile environment with guidance from more experienced members of the team.
- Support the flight software development lifecycle (design, integration, test) for the Bus and Payload Flight Software domains.
- Collaborate with peers, SSPL FSW, Smart Sat team members, and occasional customer interactions.
- Assist in developing Specifications and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Create test scenarios for code changes to test new capability or verify defect fixes.
- Participate in system testing activities with other organizations in a dynamic, agile environment guided by more experienced team members.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide flexibility. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week; some schedules may be condensed, providing time away from the office in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in various states is provided as a guideline and may vary by location and other factors.
