Data Center Chief Engineer – AWS (Military Community)

• Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities‑related issues and oversee operation of critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers and cooling towers.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot within internal Service Level Agreements.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and collaborate with the Facility Manager to set team culture.
• Create and deploy standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams.
• Assist in the build‑out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency.
• Work outside normal business hours for maintenance and emergency response.
• Communicate complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
• Coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff.
• Establish building performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.
• Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook for daily administrative tasks.

• 3+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• 3+ years of mission‑critical facilities experience, including industrial electrical and mechanical systems in settings such as hospitals, military, or public‑safety facilities.
• Experience reading, writing, and troubleshooting procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

• Experience in data center engineering or operations.
• Experience in construction or project management.
• Experience leading technical teams through daily operations and maintenance evolutions.
• Comfortable working in environments that involve walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.
