Data Center Security Specialist, CMH-Hilliard Security

Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) serves customers and developers who rely on storage, compute, and our other service capabilities. AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team, who will help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.

• Manage physical security operations, develop post orders, define security procedures, handle site incidents, work with security equipment, participate in construction projects, drive day-to-day process improvement activities, and manage vendors.
• Ensure consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures; participate in recurring site audits and reviews; test new security technologies.
• Demonstrate resilient leadership, flexibility to work in a dynamic environment, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Perform daily responsibilities such as security system checks (access control, cameras, alarm panels), participate in operations meetings, conduct facility walkthroughs, inspect perimeter security, and document vulnerabilities.
• Manage security-related tickets (badge access requests, vendor escorts, maintenance requests); oversee vendor management activities, security guard force operations, SLA compliance, and random post inspections for quality service.
• Review metrics, discuss process improvements, coordinate projects, and maintain security procedures and incident documentation.
• Maintain effective communication with vendors, contractors, and internal teams; ensure timely response to security incidents or alarms; uphold high standards of data center security.

• 1+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience, or experience in professional or military IT-related roles.

• 2+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office tools experience.
• Experience with access control and CCTV systems.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
