Amazon Data Services, Inc. (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Technician to support the operation of all AWS global infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The technician will serve as a primary resolver for the support team, troubleshooting operating systems and infrastructure issues, documenting solutions, and conveying SOPs to junior staff.
Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and solving most infrastructure problems, executing small projects independently, and collaborating with management on larger local projects. The role serves as an escalation point for junior technicians and requires a deep understanding of all equipment and processes.
The position may involve rotating shifts and 3, 4, or 5 day/night work weeks, with up to 10% travel. It will be located at one of multiple separate sites.
This role requires the candidate to be a U.S. citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Basic Qualifications- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+, CND (Certified Network Defender), Network+, or Security+
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
- 1+ years of network cabling, fiber optics, and test equipment experience (VFL, power meter, OTDR)
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
- Associate’s degree in information technology or computer science
