The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is a frontline responder for hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation within AWS data centers. The role supports stand‑by diesel generators, switchboards, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. The position requires 24/7 shift coverage, including 12‑hour shifts on rotating 3‑, 4‑ or 5‑day work weeks.

Candidate must be a US citizen and hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, PDU and ATS replacements.
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure adherence to all safety procedures.
• Work a 12‑hour shift in rotating 3‑ and 4‑day work weeks (days or nights).
• Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
• Use internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory.
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Respond to off‑hour emergency calls per on‑call rotation for any region site.
• Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs.
• Manipulate small wires and objects.

• Walk job sites in uneven terrain.
• Work at heights and from ladders.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; participate in group lifts of 40 pounds or more.
• Bend or twist into unusual positions.
• Push or pull heavy objects into position.
• Work in noisy environments.

• 1+ year of experience in electrical or mechanical fields, or 1+ year in data center or mission‑critical facilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active US Government Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
