Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of industrial machinery and equipment through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs. This role involves a broad range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance tasks in a manufacturing or industrial environment. The technician will work independently and as part of a team to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions and breakdowns.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, connections, and functionality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs accurately.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Identify and implement improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to address equipment issues and minimize disruptions.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Stay updated on technical advancements and best practices in industrial maintenance.
- Train production personnel on basic equipment maintenance tasks as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an industrial maintenance technician or mechanic.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Basic welding, fabrication, and machining skills are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and accessing technical information.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with specific types of industrial machinery or equipment relevant to the employer's industry.
- Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Certifications in relevant maintenance areas.
