This role is the front line of Amazon’s data center operations. As an Engineering Operations Technician (EOT), you will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission‑critical infrastructure systems—including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment—to ensure 24/7 reliability. You will work with cross‑functional teams to test and implement new technologies and support change management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
- Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack‑level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM), root‑cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Provide technical writing to support the change management program.
- Manage daily work requests to resolution and execute projects from conception to completion.
- Provide on‑site support to contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Work shifts up to 12 hours, with possible rotation and on‑call duties, and may support multiple locations/sites.
AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure. As part of this team, you will collaborate with software, hardware, network, security, and operations specialists to maintain the highest standards of safety and security while delivering scalable capacity at low cost.
Qualifications- Work flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience, or 2+ years electrical maintenance plus 1+ year mechanical maintenance.
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
- Vocational or technical training, associate degree, or 4+ years of military experience.
USA, OH, Hilliard – 37.00 – 65.00 USD hourly.
The base salary range for this position is listed above. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
