Overview
The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development-focused role designed to prepare participants for a future CVS Store Manager position. Through a 16‑week, self‑paced, collaborative training, trainees gain practical experience and leadership skills.
Key Competencies- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to support and lead the team.
- Provide high‑level customer care to deliver excellent service.
- Execute merchandising strategies that support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage with the trainer in Key Learning Experiences and support the promotion pathway during the program.
- Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in supporting the company’s purpose of helping people achieve better health.
- Be willing to accept promotion roles within the designated market location.
- Support promotion to the Store Manager role at any location in the assigned market.
- Transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market as needed.
- Work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience considered.
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market.

Time TypeFull time
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is $18.50 – $23.88 per hour. The actual offer may vary based on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
